One of my Boxy Bat Design

This is just one of my Boxy Bat v2.0 Design for FabFibe Show 2009.

I always wanted to do some engraving design and now I've made it. As we just bought a cutter and I was thinking to make full use of the cutter and also test the limit of the cutter.

我们原创的 Boxy Bat 被抄？？？

大家来看看，这是一个朋友最近在澳门拍到的照片，是否和我们的Boxy Bat 很相似？
我们的 Boxy Bat 是在 2008 年为我们的论坛成立一周年而创造的，依照我们设计的卡通蝙蝠 “可鲁” 而设计的纸玩。

可鲁是我们创作出来一个代表 “居銮“ 我的家乡蝙蝠城的卡通蝙蝠 “可鲁“ 便是取自 Keluang 居銮（马来语是一种大蝙蝠）早期的名字的前四个字母（其中一个传说）。
我们也在 2008 年举办了一个 Collaboration Project 的活动，征求来自不同国家的设计师为 Boxy Bat 画上彩装，并在几个国家展出过。

最近我们再次举办了 Boxy Bat V2.0 的 Collaboration Project 活动，这次更获得更多不同国家的设计师的支持与参与将会在 2009 年 12 月展出。发现这样的类似品不禁让我们担心以后会否出现更多的 “类似品“。

如今互联网技术的进步，资讯传播的速度比从前快上许多，任何人都可以 “参考“ 别的国家的创意用为自己的作品，以为这样会神不知鬼不觉，但是互联网同时也是一把双面刃，原创者很快就会以相同的渠道发现抄袭者。

在此我只想澄清我们的设计绝对是原创，他日若有人怀疑我们是否抄袭也有个对证。
也同时呼吁大家尊重原创！

Kelu and Big Foot at KL Design Week

Bat DNA Kelu and Big Foot are exhibited at KL Design Week, the event is hold at CapSquare a very new mall near Dang Wangi LRT station.

Below are some photo from Fabric-fun taken when Nana the set up was completed.

I was there for 2 days from 29 Mar to 30 Mar, it was a very successful event and the thing is I got to know some of the local designer and artist they're all full of enthusiasm.

And also we're very happy that people there like Kelu and the Big Foot creature very much, and we met our high school art teacher there and guess what he bring about 70 over junior there for this event. Nice to meet all of you there.

Fabric Fun Dolls Exhibition 2008 is now on Basheer City Room Gallery!

Horoscope Kelu Poster

This poster is to promote the yearly Bat DNA pocket calendar, this is the 3rd year we giving out pocket calendar and I'd like to thank my partner Soon Foong and Wei Foong for working so hard to get sponsors for the calendar and also helping on the design part.

They'll be soon available in the sponsors' shops and also available at Nana's coming Fabric Fun Dolls Exhibition 2008.

Bat DNA T

Finally the T-shirt designed for Bat DNA was printed. But the colour is changed, due to the reason of can't find the exact T-shirt colour, so we change it to black T-shirt and light gray printing.

Isay is something like Twitter power by Myicon.

Boxy Bat widget

Long time didn't update this blog, been busy on work and helping Nana's exhibition.

This Boxy Bat widget is to showcase the designs of artist and designer from Malaysia, Taiwan and Singapore. There is a webs link of the designer underneath the widget.

Although I call it a widget in fact it just a share flash across a few blogs of mine and Nana, nothing customization on it. Another problem of it is the huge file size, it'll eat up the bandwidth of my hosting.

For those who contribute the design I'll try to make your design into the 3D display format as soon as possible. Thanks for the participation.

Trick or treat

Yes the Halloween is coming~ The bat design suddenly came across my mind, then I asked Nana to make them for me. How nice was she especially now she is preparing for her exhibition next month.

Above is the final version of the poster, after some discussion with Nana.



This is the initial design but both of us felt that it look too alike with the Mid-Autumn Festival poster, so Nana suggested to make it gray and spookier.



This is what Nana suggested. Very contrast, and it is in gray, but personally I prefer it a bit desaturated. So the final version is actually a combination of both of the first and the second images.
